Cheese making production has re-started in the Parish of Hartington in October 2012

A dynamic and entrepreneurial group have set up a  new company called the Hartington Creamery and have found some suitable barns in the Parish of Hartington which have been converted to a small scale cheese factory.

The five individuals are passionate about cheese making and keeping cheese production alive in Hartington and the county of Derbyshire as there has been no cheese made on a large scale in the County since the closure of the Long Clawson Hartington Dairy in May 2009.

Two of the team are renowned cheese makers, two are the owners of the Hartington Cheese Shop and the fifth member of the team owns The Cheese Factor, a well established cheese shop in Chesterfield.
